Why buy a used Audi Q4?
The Audi Q4 feels very much like an Audi SUV, just electric. You get the big screens and state-of-the-art connectivity you’d expect from a Q3 or Q5, plus excellent passenger space and a big boot. But as the Q4 isn’t engine-powered, it’s quieter and smoother as well. Most models offer the double benefits of fast acceleration and a 300-mile range.
Popular Audi Q4 trims for sale at Motorpoint
The mid-range S Line trim is the most widely available, adding sporty styling flicks and exclusive interior trimmings over the entry-level (but still very well equipped) Sport trim. All Q4s come with high-end features such as adaptive cruise control, heated front seats and bright LED headlights.
Owning a used Audi Q4
Most electric cars suffer quite steep depreciation just after being registered. This is great news for you, because a used Audi Q4 is considerably less expensive than a brand-new one – but it won’t feel like you’ve settled for an old car. What’s more, the cost saving continues if you can charge at home on an EV-friendly tariff, where a full charge will cost around £15. The Q4 should be even more reliable than Audi’s petrol and diesel models, because the fully electric powertrain has far fewer moving parts.
Other models you may be interested in
The Q4 is a stylish and premium family SUV. You might cross-shop a Q4 with cars such as the BMW iX1, Mercedes EQA and Volvo EX40, as well as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq – both of which share their underpinnings with the Q4.

Audi Q4 FAQs
While the Q3 is approaching 4.5 metres long, the Q4 is a little bigger, at almost 4.6 metres. The Q4 also has a longer wheelbase, freeing up more passenger space inside than the Q3. However, in the real world you’re unlikely to notice a massive difference in how large the Q3 feels versus the Q4.
We’d usually reserve the term ‘luxury car’ for Bentleys and Rolls-Royces, but the Q4 is a premium SUV that certainly feels more luxurious than something like a Skoda Enyaq or Tesla Model Y.
Every Q4 comes with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for the battery pack, which protects you if the battery pack drops below 70% of its original usable capacity in that time. But EV batteries are lasting longer than you might think, and it’s likely that the battery will still be in a good condition in 10 or 15 years’ time.
Until April 2025 road tax is free on an Audi Q4. After that, a brand-new model will cost £10 in tax in the first year, and then the standard rate (currently £190) thereafter. Because every Q4 starts at more than £40,000, you’ll need to pay the ‘Expensive Car Supplement’ until the car is six years old, bringing the yearly tax total to around £600.
Yes, a reversing camera comes as standard, as do front and rear parking sensors.
A panoramic sunroof can be added to a new Q4 as an optional extra. You can add it as a standalone option for around £1,300, or pick the Technology Pack Pro option, which bundles in a sunroof – plus luxuries like upgraded lights, extra driver assistance tech and a Sonos sound system – for £4,500.
Yes, keyless entry and keyless start both come as standard in the Q4.
